When should you take your child to their 1st orthodontic appointment?

Did you know that the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that
every child first visit an orthodontist by age 7?

Having a consultation and having Dr. McCord determine a treatment plan early can help simplify later treatment.
Early treatment can prevent abnormal wear on permanent teeth, correct harmful habits such as thumb sucking, create space for crowded teeth & guide the growth of your child's jaw.

Some good indicators that you should schedule an appointment are, if your child has problems with things like thumb sucking, early or late baby teeth, has a hard time eating (biting or chewing) or upper teeth fitting inside lower teeth (cross bite)

If you have any questions of concerns, please feel free to contact our office today and schedule a time to come in and have a complimentary consultation with Dr. McCord.  At your 1st appointment he will answer any questions, determine if early treatment is need & if so, what type & give you an estimate of the treatment time frame.

  1. I agree as early as 7 is okay especially if you notice there's something that's need to be fix. My friend suggested me to visit orthodontist in New Jersey because he said they're really good!
